Progressions

So here I post progressions of my new piece. I shall continue to do so as I do so.
Anywho, It is interesting for me to watch as a sculpture unfolds for if I pay attention I can learn much about my process and how I come to realize more and more the forms untill they settle down into a finished state. I realize that though I train my visualness, naturally I work and live from a sensing feeling that is within myself. Often there is a balence between what is in myself and what is within the stone. But what is interesting that could be seen should one follow the progressions of this piece ( and also furthor along ) that in carving the visage of this figure, there is no direct removal of stone to end at a final form. Rather it is a dance of shape and form resting in many variations along the way, slowly finding the way to what is to be expressed and containing all that has been expressed in the process.
I say the blah blah blog is a beautiful thing!

Oh sweet Robin. You certainly have a fine way with words. They (your words) always seem to find a wonderful way to my heart...and make me present in this very special poetic way. Love it. And want more.....kisses
